# L100-Extinguisher

The L100-Extinguisher is an alternative to the [Fire Extinguisher](https://barotraumagame.com/wiki/Fire_Extinguisher). Rather than lasting for 50 seconds as does the one from vanilla, the L100 lasts for 100 seconds. This is much higher than the [S5 Extinguisher](/mechtrauma/items/gear/tools/s5-extinguisher.md) which only lasts for 5 seconds with the advantage of being a small item. #### **Crafting**

1 [Aluminum](https://barotraumagame.com/wiki/Aluminum) Yields 1 L100-Extinguisher. Required Skill: 20 Mechanical.

#### Usage

The L100 Fire extinguisher is used like any other tool. Simply hold down right click to aim, and hold down left click to continuously fire (perhaps fire is not the most appropriate word choice). A white cloud functionally identical to the one produced by the [Fire Extinguisher](https://barotraumagame.com/wiki/Fire_Extinguisher) is produced which snuffs out fires over time while it overlaps with them.

#### Tips

The L100-Extinguisher finds a good home in [Turnout Gear](/mechtrauma/items/gear/outerwear/turnout-gear.md) as it has a slot to store fire extinguishers, and the L100 is the highest capacity variant. It is recommended to keep a fully fuelled L100 in all [Turnout Gear](/mechtrauma/items/gear/outerwear/turnout-gear.md) on the submarine.
