A Dry Suit is an [Outerwear](https://barotraumagame.com/wiki/Gear#Outerwear) item intended for use in the submarine when it is flooded. It comes with a built in [Status Monitor](https://barotraumagame.com/wiki/Status_Monitor) which allows for the wearer (or holder) to see where breaches are in the sub, as well as the wearer (or holder)'s location within the sub. It also comes with a slot for a [Welding Tool](https://barotraumagame.com/wiki/Welding_Tool) or [Welder](/mechtrauma/dead-links/welder.md). It has a depth rating of 2500m and thusly [degrades](/mechtrauma/game-mechanics/game-mechanics/advanced-diving-suits.md) at a 50% slower rate.

**Tips**

It is recommended to at all times keep Dry Suits stocked with a [Welder](/mechtrauma/dead-links/welder.md) (and a nearby [S5](/mechtrauma/items/gear/tools/s5-extinguisher.md)!) or [Welding Tool](https://barotraumagame.com/wiki/Welding_Tool) as this lessens the necessity for all crew mates to carry one on them.

**Technical Information**

The item ID is "dry\_suit". The Dry Suit provides the following resistances: I am too lazy to check right now (if you are seeing this then I forgot to do it tomorrow).
